Location

Located just half an hour from Memphis International Airport, the Harrah's Tunica is the largest hotel and casino that you can stay at between Las Vegas and Atlantic City, meaning that there is a lot to be had at this resort. You can even take a shuttle from the airport to the resort. This large property is composed of three towers and a luxurious 18 hole golf course. When driving down the road, it is nearly impossible to miss this grand resort. Though two of the towers are not connected to the casino, there is a shuttle that runs 24 hours a day to take you to there.

Hotel/Casino

There are a grand total of 1,356 rooms, 113 of which are suites. The theme of the rooms are art deco, except for the Paula Deen inspired suites. The hotel is committed to going green, which can be experienced throughout the resort, which is always a good thing. The rooms have a modern theme with flat screen TVs, 24 hour room service and you can even keep your pets with you for an additional fee. If you want to have wifi in your room, it is an additional $12 a night. When you are ready to visit the casino, you will find 140,000 square feet of gaming entertainment. There are more than two thousand slots and sixty tables so you can find just what you are looking for. Whether it is baccarat, blackjack, roulette or poker, you will be able to get in on the action. As with many casinos you can smoke and get free drinks while playing at the tables, which can be a big plus for many people. You can even get casino credit or just use your Total Rewards card.

Restaurants/Nightclubs

The hallmark of this resort is the Paula Deen Buffet, though there are many other options. When you are in the mood for fine dining, you can visit '37 or stop in at Dunkin Doughnuts to grab something quick. If you are looking for drinks, then you can visit the Lobby bar or the pool cabana. When it comes to night life, you can visit Sphere, where you can have a drink and even enjoy video slots or dance the night away.

Amenities/Entertainment

Whether you are looking for tournaments, special event and concerts and shows that you can take part in at the 2,300 seat Event Center. There is much more that you can do here, such as the Bellissimo spa and salon. If you are in the mood for an adventure, you can stop by the Willows Sporting Clays and Hunting (though you must have a valid hunting license to go on certain expeditions, such as the quail hunt). There is even an RV park for those that are traveling and just want to stop in and visit this resort. When the weather gets warm, you can cool down by the pool and relax at the cabanas.

Summary

Though this is the largest casino around, there are many different drawbacks. For one, there are not many options when it comes to restaurants. It is basically just '37 or Paula Deen Buffet. There are plenty of different options in the casino, though you will have to take a shuttle or walk to the casino as there are only a few rooms in the tower where the casino is. There are many complaints that the older towers are not as nice and there are many complaints about the cleanliness of them. If you plan to travel in a group, there are many different group rate specials that you can take advantage of. Overall though, this is a great place to do a little gambling when you are in the Memphis area. Overall I would give this resort 3 out of 5 stars.
